Opportunity to Help Young Women

Emily Benson of the Children's Home Association of Illinois teaches job skills and life skills to clients in the Residential Therapeutic Treatment Facility. She is currently teaching a Job Skills class to three teenage girls.

She is looking for a professional businesswoman to speak with these girls about goal setting, what she is currently doing professionally, what she had to do to get there, and to possibly give a work-site tour. If any NAWBO members would be interested in doing this, or could refer me to someone who would be interested, she would be very appreciative!

Encore 2009 with the Morton Civic Chorus

It's that time of year again! Beth Houlihan of Kidder Music will be performing in Encore 2009 with the Morton Civic Chorus.  The show runs from May 19-24 at the Hartmann Center on the Bradley University campus.  All proceeds benefit the Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund (CIMKF).  It is our director, Denise Adams', 25th year directing the show, so it will be extra special, and we want to raise a ton of money for CIMKF!  For more more information, you can visit www.cimkf.org/mcc.

Join Team NAWBO-CIL for the Komen Peoria Race for the Cure

Tomorrow (April 26) is the deadline for team registration for the Komen Peoria Race for the Cure. If you haven't joined the NAWBO - Central Illinois team yet, you should register today! Our goal is to raise $2,500, and we could really use your support.

We would love to have your join us at the event on May 9th (just 16 days away!), but if you can't be there, you can still participate by contributing a gift/donation. There are several options and levels of commitment. When you go to the Team Page, you can click on the "Join Team" link in the black box above the team roster. The next page will show your options and lead you through the sign up process.

Join the fight against breast cancer by registering as part of our team or by supporting our efforts with a pledge contribution. The money raised through the Race will fund vital education, screening and treatment programs for underserved women in our own community and support the national search for a cure.
