Kim Farlin is owner of Ms. Fixit, a home repair and home remodeling business, focused primarily on residential repair and remodeling in carpentry and ceramic tile. Kim started the business in January 2001, specializing minor repair and remodeling jobs that other construction businesses did not wish to perform. Her job sites are some of the cleanest around.
Kim loves to fish, golf, camp, karate, and play video games. She also enjoys reading and does so every night before going to sleep.
Kim shares her home with her longtime companion of fifteen years, Denise. They have one daughter, Amelia. They also have one dog, Rose, and two cats, Miss Fluff and Rocky.
Kim belongs to the National Association of Women Business Owners - Central Illinois Chapter, Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, Peoria Area Woodworker's Club, National Association of the Self-Employed, Habitat for Humanity-Construction Committee. She also actively volunteers for the WomenBuild project, a construction project that is part of Habitat fot Humanity.
Kim actively volunteers for the Universalist Unitarian Church property committee and has also served a two year term as a Board Trustee. She received the Church Mouse award for quietly taking care of church building problems.
In 2003, Kim received the Rookie of the Year Award from the Central Illinois Chapter of NAWBO.
