Diana Gustin
Joan's Trophy &. Plaque Co. is an awards corporation retailing plaques, trophies, medallions, ribbons, namebadges, business incentives, gifts, and promotional products (to name only a few). All engraving, lasering, etching, screening and assembly are done in-house. Diana shares responsibility of running the business (and managing 25 dedicated employees) with her husband, Don. They purchased the "already established...but small" Joan's name and company in 1977 and have developed it into one of the largest award dealers in Illinois. They began in 600 square feet of rented space, expanded that to 1300, moved to 6500 sq. ft., and finally in 1997 purchased and remodeled their present 20,000+ sq. ft. building.
On a personal note, Diana loves to travel with both family and friends. She loves golf, scuba diving and played softball and volleyball for many years. She and Don celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in 2003. They have two single sons and are very proud of them. Brent is the production manager at Joan's. Brice is a mechanical engineer for Ford Motor Company. Diana served five years on the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Workmen's Comp Trust board and has held many offices with NAWBO. Since becoming a member in 1993, NAWBO friendships developed through the years have been invaluable. As a result of these friendships, Diana (along with Pat Drake, Cindy Neal and Lynne Johnson) started Sassy Lady Clothing and Accessories in 2003. This unique clothing boutique is located in the shops at 401 Water St. along the Peoria Riverfront.
